Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

BiyahEase is a research prototype developed by BSIT students at First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities (FAITH Colleges) as part of a capstone project. This policy explains what the app collects and how it's used.

Information we collect

  • Account details you provide when signing up or signing in with Google — name and email address.
  • Location data (GPS coordinates) while you're actively using navigation features.
  • Trip history, saved favorites, and destination suggestions you submit.
  • Feedback or messages you send us directly.

How we use it

  • To provide landmark-based navigation, route guidance, transfer alerts, and fare estimates.
  • To save your trip history and favorites so you can revisit them.
  • To improve route accuracy and respond to the feedback and suggestions you send.

Third-party services

BiyahEase uses the Mapbox API for map rendering, GPS tracking, and route visualization, and links out to Spotify for curated ride playlists. These services operate under their own privacy policies once you leave BiyahEase.

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Data collected is used only to operate and improve this prototype for the purposes of the research study it was built for.

Your choices

You can request that your account data be deleted at any time by reaching out through the Contact Us section below.

Children's privacy

BiyahEase is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

About this prototype

BiyahEase is a research and development capstone project, not a commercial transit authority. It's built to demonstrate landmark-based navigation and fare estimation for selected localities in Batangas Province — Santo Tomas City, Tanauan City, Malvar, Lipa City, and Talisay.

Accuracy of routes and fares

Routes, landmarks, and fares were walked, ridden, and validated by the research team at the time of data collection, using the applicable LTFRB fare guides and local fare matrices. Actual fares and conditions can change due to fare adjustments, fuel prices, rerouting, or the closure or relocation of landmarks. Always confirm the fare and route with the driver or conductor — BiyahEase's estimates are a guide, not a guarantee.

Your responsibilities

Use BiyahEase responsibly and stay aware of your surroundings while commuting. The app is a navigation aid, not a substitute for official transit information, real-time vehicle tracking, or your own judgment in unfamiliar or unsafe situations.

Limitation of liability

BiyahEase is provided "as is," as a prototype, without warranties of any kind. The research team is not liable for missed stops, incorrect fares, travel delays, or other issues that may arise from using the app or relying on outdated route information.

Intellectual property

The BiyahEase name, logo, Biya mascot, and original app content are the work of the research team. See Logo & Brand Ownership for details.

Third-party links

Links to Mapbox, Google, Spotify, and similar services are governed by those services' own terms once you leave BiyahEase.

Governing context

BiyahEase was developed and is evaluated under the academic policies of FAITH Colleges, Tanauan City, Batangas, Philippines.

Logo & Brand Ownership

The BiyahEase name, wordmark, app icon, and the Biya owl mascot — including all of Biya's poses and illustrations used throughout this site and the app — are original creative works made for this capstone project by the research team.

Please don't reuse, reproduce, or modify the BiyahEase name, logo, or Biya artwork outside of this project without asking us first. If you're referencing this project academically, a citation back to the study is enough — see Contact Us if you need anything beyond that.
